Best show of 2019 yet!
Patti Smith and her band are absolutely amazing. Patti was so fabulous. Her voice and her stage presence were just so incredible! After two songs, my husband who is NEW to Patti Smith, turned to me with great enthusiasm and declared “this woman is talented !”. Midnight Oil’s “Beds are burning “ never sounded so good! And of course, nobody does “Gloria” better than Patti. This was the first stop on a longer tour for her and the band. They obviously had a great time and enjoyed themselves, sand and played well. Her encore was the very appropriate strong message crowd pleaser “the people have the power”. It was excellent all around! My favorite show of 2019 by a lot. My favorite show since Iggy Pop in April of 2016! I would’ve liked to have heard one or two of her more hardcore punk rock tunes and the spoken word at the end of “dancing barefoot “ would have been great, but I’m not disappointed in any way. Don’t miss this show!
